TIPS FOR AQUARIUM FISHES :
Temperature :
Temperature plays a vital role for the successful running of aquarium fishes. They
need 28* to 30* degree temperature throughout the year. They do not tolerate variation
in temperature. Generally, freshwater tropical fishes are hybrid fishes, you will
not get them in normal pond except some varieties. They get hybreaded in specific
temperature i.e. 28* to 30* degree. Therefore it is necessary to give them same temperature
throughout the year. For summer if you are using cooler or A.C., then don’t switch
off your thermostat heater, it will manage the temperatre automatically.
Lighting :
Lighiting for fishes is not necessary. It is just for our entertainment. Excess
lighting can cause the formation of algae in your aquarium. Therefore it will better
to keep light’s off to keep away from algae. Switch on the light whenever you want.
Compatability :
Compatability is much more important in fish keeping. Some fishes are carnivorous,
some are herbivorous and some are omnivorous. Carnivorous fishes are very aggressive
fishes, they do not go with other normal varieties. They are generally fish eater
Secondly, herbivorous fishes are those who survive only on normal granuels or flake
food. They do not go with other varities except some kind of fishes. Lastly, omnivorous
fishes are those varieties which can go with all other fishes. They can eat granuels,
flakes as well as non- veg foods.
Water Quality :
Water quality is also important to keep your fish healthy. It should be better if
you use R.O. water or aquaguard water to keep fishes. You can also use ground water
but that should not very hard. Never use direct tap water for fish keeping as it
contain chlorine and other harmful chemicals also.
Feeding :
Always feed your fish twice or thrice a day. Only give one pinch of food i.e. 15-20
granuels for small fishes twice a day and two pinch of food i.e. 30-40 granuels
for larger fishes twice to thrice a day. Never over feed your fishes.
